Zodeen / One update moves the whole plan

One update, and the forecast, the workload, the stand-up and the report all change

When someone updates a task, Zodeen recalculates everything that depends on it, and explains what changed in plain words.

The problem

In most tools an update is a line of text. Someone still has to work out what it means for the date, chase the people it affects and rewrite the report. By the time they do, the update is days old.

How it works

Post in one place

Pick the task, move the progress slider, add a note, by typing or by voice, in your own language.

Everything recalculates

The critical path, how far behind each task is, its slack, the go-live forecast, the Monte Carlo dates and everyone’s workload update the moment you post.

What your update changed

A box under your update explains it simply: how far behind the task was and is now, how much slack it has, what that does to go-live, and how many hours it takes off people.

It lands everywhere

Tomorrow’s stand-up, Friday’s report and the steering committee pack pick it up. Everyone sees it live, translated into their own language.

An example: Bob’s update

  • The app launch is off track: go-live is forecast for December 11 because the cloud backend is 10 working days behind, 5 more than its slack.
  • Bob finishes and tests the backend endpoints and moves the task from 35% to 60%.
  • The task is now only 2 days behind, inside its slack, so go-live goes back to December 4 and the project turns green.
  • Bob has almost forty fewer hours of work left, and his line is in tomorrow’s stand-up and Friday’s report.

The value

  • Everyone sees the real effect of an update right away.
  • No one spends Friday rebuilding the report from chat messages.
  • Plain-language explanations people trust.

In the product

  • Bob posts 35% → 60% on the cloud backend. “What your update changed”: 10 days behind becomes 2, inside its 5 days of slack, so go-live is back on December 4.
  • The shared feed: every update with its task, kind and progress.
  • The next morning, the update is already in the stand-up.
